Princess Allison lives on the Star Ship Boone. Her father is Emperor To Mankind. Allison’s people are at war with Arupian Empire and all her friends are busy with the war effort. Allison meets Damon and is drawn to his personality. Damon, a big bad Marine, falls head over heels in love with Allison and woos her.  The day after Allison and Damon make love for the first time, Allison meets Harry.

Harry is nothing like Damon. Harry is brilliant and not good with people. He says what he thinks and he thinks Allison should be with him, not Damon.

Allison is forced to choose between the two and she chooses Damon. Harry and Damon come to blows the next day and slowly the two men become friends. Just when Damon and Allison are settling into their relationship Damon volunteers for a deadly mission. When he does not return Allison and Harry must deal with the loss of their friend and loved one. But, all is not lost. Damon may still be alive.

The Polyamorous Princess is a fascinating tale set in a bold world. Polyamorous relations are nothing new to the world created by Melodee Aaron. Allison’s father is married to four women who are all in love with each other. There are no sexual taboos in Allison’s world. Allison is a loving woman caught between two men. She loves them both and is torn apart at having to choose one. Damon and Harry are both yummy in their determination to win Allison. Damon is heroic when he leaves on his mission. I will admit to crying a bit when he was reported as dead. Melodee Aaron did an outstanding job bringing her characters to life.  The story focuses on the relationship between the three characters, but the war with the Arupian Empire is very much a presence in The Polyamorous Princess. The book’s plot has a wonderful flow and the story is a pleasure to read.
