Susan Fox closes her Wild Ride to Love series with a touching tale of love rediscovered in Yours, Unexpectedly. I readily identified with Merilee and Matt in this book, so young and burdened with a lot of baggage. Merilee has been in love with Matt since they were seven years old and feels he’s her soul mate, happy to be one half of team M&M. She’s never had another man in her life, discovering her sexuality with him and now approaching what should be the happiest moment in a woman’s life, realizes she’s never become Merilee.

Telling the man who’s been her touchstone that she cannot go through with the wedding is a monumental decision but necessary to unlock her own personhood. Matt sees Merilee as the love of his life but feels powerless to change her mind. He’s got personal issues stemming from his childhood which bar him from revealing his true emotions so instead of confronting her, he retreats into a shell.

Being able to cancel all the preparations except for the cruise, Merilee and Matt decide they will try to make the best out of this awful situation and go on the cruise. Arriving at the destination, they are frosty to one another but over the course of a week, true communication takes place and they rediscover each other. At this point in Yours, Unexpectedly Susan Fox’s talent truly shines as M&M explore their sexuality, finding that incorporating a little kink can make for some heated nights! I enjoyed Merilee and Matt’s journey as they boldly found out not only what turns them on sexually but what would bring them individual bliss. Ms. Fox’s story was so good I now have to pick up the other Fallon girls’ stories to see how they found the loves of their lives.
