| Kyndra believed she had all that she wanted, and could not want for anything more than the love of her Fae magic, her Blue Dragons and being a High Priestess. When word comes that her kind has suffered a mind-spinning blow, she does what any other woman would do for the love of her people and the continuance of her species. She didn’t expect to falter in her beliefs. She didn’t foresee indulging in sins of the flesh and going over the line to break the rules of her order. Aimery rose through the ranks to achieve his position as Commander, although he did so at a price. Hope of having a family of his own withered into nothing, leaving him only with the love of protecting his realm. When a thief steals a priceless treasure and the news of it hits close to home, he vows to bring the culprit down. Hooking up with Kyndra proves a greater distraction than he needs. With her unique beauty and unwavering strength, the pull on him has an alarming affect. Deeper still, they have a job to do together. Black magic and evil lurk, taking them each on a different ride. Options remain few and far between and offer little choice in the direction ahead, leaving the outcome looking grim. Dragonfyre by Donna Grant held my interest from the first sentence. I was whisked away into a world where darkness emerged and light remains unseen. My heart broke for the pain of the dragons, and my heart thundered for the villain to pay. How sweet it was to watch Kyndra find something more within her by the story's end. Passion for the sake of passion held more opportunity for personal growth. I found it seductively sweet to watch it grow and bloom in such a short time. Aimery had me drooling with his protective nature and his steel-hard strength. Reading lifted my smile and I saw how actions, even if unwanted, could prove to have a positive meaning instead of an unwarranted consequence. I am looking forward to picking up another book by Donna Grant sometime soon. |
