Rulik's tried to live his life the best he can, helping others when possible because he’s given up hope of ever pleasing his father. When his ship receives a distress call, he breaks interplanetary law to offer aide and in turn meets the most beautiful man he’s ever seen, Shayan.

Shayan is immediately attracted to Rulik and it is normal for the people of his planet to be bi-sexual so he’s excited about the prospect of bedding the handsome Captain.

Rulik and Shayan are from two very different worlds and even classes within their individual cultural structure. Will they be able to find happiness together or will their time be fleeting?

Diplomatic Relations is definitely a different type of story so if you like something new, intriguing and very thought-provoking, you’re sure to enjoy this book by Lyndi Lamont. I wasn’t sure what to expect at the end and am not sure if anything could have prepared me adequately for the ending but it was very well done. Diplomatic Relations is not a story with a typical happily-ever-after but it is happy and leaves the door open for a sweet future for Rulik and Shayan.
