Charly’s Fire by Bella Tyler Charly Hanson is divorced at thirty-two, working as a secretary during the day and taking college classes at night. She comes home one night, desperate to relax, changes into her bed clothes, lights some candles and falls asleep only be awakened by her smoke alarm going off and her apartment on fire. When Vince Nackos arrives on the scene of a fire and sees the delectable Charly in nothing but a silk nightie, he’s sorely tempted. After putting her in a cab to a hotel, he decides to check on her the following morning.
Wrong Number by Bella Tyler Charlie Farnsworth is a firefighter in a small town and after working four twenty-four hour shifts, he’s exhausted and wants nothing more than to sleep for a few days. When his phone rings and he realizes that it’s the mysterious woman that’s been dialing his number by mistake for the past month, his weariness leaves him and he’s determined to find out more about her. There’s something about her voice that sounds familiar but he just can’t place it…
I was skeptical about two stories totalling 17 pages but Bella Tyler did a wonderful job with both. Charly’s Fire and Wrong Number were both well developed with likeable characters and fast moving storylines. If you only have half an hour and are interested in something light and fun to read, look no further!
