When Jubal sees a picture of Summer, he knows that she is his mate. He is determined to find her before she is stolen by another dragon shifter. As her sister is otherwise occupied, he enlists the aid the co-owner of the Drake’s Lair and fae Pierce. Summer learns about the world of “other” when a friend’s hoshi no tama or star ball is stolen. She is determined to help him and is warned that she must be on the lookout for dragons. When she finds the Dominant of her dreams, she understands that a choice must be made. She can protect her friend and lose her dream or trust her submissive nature to her perfect dom.

Dragon Master by Jory Strong is ninth in the Supernatural Bonds series. This series is best if read in chronological order. This story is heavily dependent on the previous books. Summer is a strong woman who understands that she has a deeply submissive nature. She is sure that when her perfect Dom appears, her soul will know. When she sees Jubal, her instincts scream that he can provide her with the security her submissive nature needs. But she must trust that he will see to her needs in spite of what she believes of his dragon nature.

Jubal knows that his dominant needs scare many strong women. He respects strength but craves submission. Summer is exactly what both he and his dragon crave. The problem happens when he knows that she is hiding a big secret and is not trusting him to provide what she needs. He knows that without her trust, he must let Summer go.

I thought Ms. Strong gave us strong male and female characters. I found the push-pull relationship and the intense chemistry between Jubal and Summer believable. Their emotional connection was strong and stemmed from their understanding of their nature and needs. Her explanation for the speed with which Jubal and Summer bonded felt real. I look forward to seeing more from this series and Ms. Strong.
