Taibitha Durst was late for her sister's Christmas party that she didn't want to go to at all.  But the last time that she had missed it, her mother had had an anxiety attack which she still felt guilty for causing.  Her father had died four years ago and after being estranged from him for years because she did not want to be in the family's wine business, she was glad that they had cleared the air before his passing.  If only her family would be excited by her home based web design business...  Now she found herself stopping at a store to buy a particular bottle of wine for her sister's party and smacks into a gorgeous man who has the only bottle available and he won't give it up.

James Stoddard was captivated by the stunning woman with the mile long legs and at any other time he would have gladly let her have the two hundred dollar bottle of wine but he needed it to schmooze his client to get his contract for his family's wine business.  He did not care that he was the black sheep of the family because he hated wine, in fact he loved domestic beer better, but he wasn't going to let his family know that.  He needed to get his client's web design contract but he could not shake the sad eyes of the woman.  He paid for the wine and rushed out of the door to give it to her but his car was the only one in the lot.  Oh well, it was time for him to get to the Spinoli party. As Jim entered the front door, he couldn't help overhearing the angry voice of his hostess.  She was venting at the woman that he had met.  Hearing that he'd been the cause for her to lose a design contract, he struggled with how to make it right, knowing she'd put months of unpaid work into it.  It was the least he could do.

Jennifer Mckenzie pens a warm and fuzzy feeling story of two misfits who stand on their principles instead of bowing down to family traditions.  The fact that both had families in the wine business and both had rebelled towards web design was a streak of brilliance to the author and although the sex was sweet it did not detract from the book in any way.  A Tate of Christmas was well thought out, flowed smoothly and was very realistic.  A good holiday read.
