Now that the veil is gone, humans know about those from ElseWorld, including the Satyr Lords, Dane, Bastian, Sevin, and Lucien. Of course, the humans are afraid of what they don't understand and those of ElseWorld are finding the laws changing quickly and starting to restrict their freedoms.

When Sevin finds out Alexa Patrizzi is back, he goes on a mission to see that she leaves Rome immediately. Of course, Alexa refuses to leave and seriously regrets all the pain and suffering inflicted upon the Satyr brothers by her family.

On Moonful, Sevin and Lucien are transported back to the catacombs he and Dane were confined to for years. Unable to conjure Shimmerskins to help them pass their lustful night, Sevin and Lucien look for a way out. Seeing a light at the end of a tunnel, both brothers head in that direction. They are totally surprised to find Alexa roaming the tunnels in a filmy nightgown. There seems more to the situation than meets the eye, but it's too late to worry about that now. Sevin and Luc need Alexa to pass the night and to ensure they survive; without Alexa's help, both brothers would perish. Sevin had been attracted to Alexa before, but now that he has had sex with her, he wants to marry her. Alexa refuses his offer of marriage. She has secrets of her own. But when her secrets become known and dangerous, will Sevin be able to protect Alexa?

I couldn't wait to start reading the seventh book in The Lords of Satyr series, Sevin by Elizabeth Amber. Like all the other books in this series, Sevin is well written, with characters full of depth, dimension and mystery. I was captivated by the twists and surprises Ms. Amber put her characters through, wanting to know what was going to happen next. Sevin is to die for—gorgeous, confident, and an entrepreneur. As with all the Satyr brothers, Sevin is loyal to family first. I really liked Sevin; I wish I could go to Rome in 1880! Alexa has had to grow up very quickly in a few months. She was very naive but she was also curious about the Satyr men. She was very sad at what her family did, but she also had a back bone and wanted to make things right. The sex scenes between Alexa and Sevin were very hot and steamy.

Lucien Satyr was rescued from the catacombs under the Patrizzi mansion just short of his eighteenth birthday. He endured unimaginable horrors while he was there. Each of the brothers have their own special gifts, but Luc isn't able to control all his just yet. He hates to be touched by anyone, even family, and he's kept his nightly nightmares and excruciating headaches a secret from his brothers. Luc only participates in carnal delights during his Calling, and he longs for death to set him free from his pain.

I didn't know that there was a section of the book dedicated to Lucien. My heart ached for all Luc had to endure in his captivity. He was very mysterious and brooding, keeping to himself. Ms. Amber’s writing of Luc's trip to ElseWorld was very imaginative. Luc is drawn to a woman named Natalia and longs for her to touch him. Natalia is a healer and a maenad; the latter is a secret she keeps guarded. She is a strong heroine, having to raise her sister by herself. Natalia is a very likeable character. She doesn't want to treat Luc, but she is coerced. I really admired Natalia's ingenuity in helping Luc after she conveys information to the Advisor, and puts Luc in danger. I wanted nothing more than for Luc to find peace and to try and heal and go on with his life. When Ms. Amber introduced more danger into the lives of the Satyrs, I wondered how they would handle it and what the outcome would be.

There were some unanswered plot lines in both Sevin and Lucien’s stories, but overall I really enjoyed this latest installment in The Lords of Satyr series. Will there be another Satyr book in the future, Ms. Amber?
