Tristy can’t seem to find a man who is as good as her neighbor Grant.  Grant is strong, honorable and a Dom.  Tristy doesn’t believe she can live with his dominant sexual needs, so this places him firmly in the friend category.  When she cries yet again on Grant’s shoulder about her latest dating fiasco, and comfort leads to sex, will they slip down to courteous neighbors, move up to friends with benefits or will they be able to be more?

Dom Next Door by Reese Gabriel is a nice short read which started out fairly well.  The progression to a sexual relationship happened quickly, but there was enough background in the relationship between Grant and Tristy that I wasn’t bothered by that.  They were two friends who had a simmering attraction.  The chemistry felt real and the sex was hot.

However, that’s also when I think Ms. Gabriel went off course, she made Tristy an immature woman and I am not sure where that came from.  I was unimpressed with how Tristy handled the twist in her friendship with Grant.  I loved Grant from the beginning to the end.  He was an Alpha male and made no apologies for it.  The story was well written.  The sex was hot and fit within the story.  I just had issues with the female character’s emotional growth, which limited my enjoyment of the story overall
