 | Title: Under Control Author: Natalie Damschroder Publisher: Amber Quill Press Genre: Paranormal Romance Publication date: October, 2006 ISBN: 1-59279-627-3 Pages: 86 Series: | | | Tommy Idaho isn’t at all interested in being a superhero. He has caught the attention of Sloan Marshall, who trains superheroes and helps them to embrace their powers. She’s never met anyone like Tommy, who is the opposite to all her charges. He doesn’t seem to care about his special abilities or in becoming a superhero. Sloan cannot understand why anyone wouldn’t want to be a hero. The decision is taken out of Tommy’s hands when he comes to the attention of the most notorious criminal, Magnus VanDien. Now, Tommy and Sloan are forced to work together as their lives hang in the balance and they’re stalked by Marcus. Tommy needs to learn to embrace his powers and save the day. I enjoyed the pace of this story. The author gradually lets us get to know Tommy and his motivations. This way, the reader can identify with his feelings without feeling like the information is coming too quickly. This was a fresh and different take on superheroes and was a fantastic read. |
