Bolt is a security officer who works for the Cimmerean League. While he is known for his strength, he also has a secret ability, one which could make all the difference in his life. He can connect psychically with Vie.

Vie is an empath who is investigating a crime. She uncovers a plot that thrusts her into a working relationship with Bolt, and even more when she uncovers his feelings for her as well as a psychic connection between them. Their connection stands to save the entire League, and maybe even the world.

While I liked the concept of this story, it was not fleshed out enough for me, leading to confusion and plot threads that meandered instead of going from Point A to Point B. Tighter editing might have made this story shine.  The action scenes were well done, but the bare-bones plotting did not allow this author’s talent to shine. I had to read this book three times to feel like I understood it. Having said that, I did enjoy the concept and am likely to check out the next book in this series.
