Kieran is a self-employed corporate profiler, a man who uses the close concentration and focus of work to drive his personal childhood demons away. As a profiler, he enables business deals by making sure that the round pegs of one side of the deal fit into the opposing party's square holes. When between contracts, depression and panic are likely to creep in, especially now as he's been notified that his abusive parent is dying in the hospital. So he welcomes the new contract, a quest to acquire an artifact from a businessman who is also the owner of an art gallery and a patron of native artists. Kieran is not prepared for Joshua’s overt interest from the first sight, nor Joshua’s precognitive statement that he and Kieran will meet again. Perhaps the heart stone, which Joshua has collected, and which is the target of the contract accepted by Kieran, has indeed brought to Joshua his heart’s desire. But then, perhaps Kieran will obtain his heart’s desire and healing of his emotions as well. The Collector 2: Grave Heart is a marvelous approach to the paranormal romance, weaving sufficient mystery and plot twists into the story to keep every reader interested. Emily Veinglory’s explication is, as always, a style in which she excels, and the reader finds it easy to fall into empathy with these individuals, and to wish that they each might find what they seek most. Publisher’s Note: This book is a homoerotic love story and as such contains elements that may be offensive to some readers: male/male sexual contact. |
