Vincent Esposito runs a bakery in Arizona; he’s also a vampire in exile. When a car crashes through his shop, it brings sexy police officer, John Reeder, into his life. But Vincent knows the rules; he can never tell a human what he really is. Will his secrets keep Vincent and John from a love that will change both of their lives? For the Bite of It by Viki Lynn and Vina Grey is an offbeat, humorous love story and the start of their new series, Vampire in Exile. I smiled a lot as I read this story. Vincent is so wrapped up in being normal and forgetting what he really is that it’s comical watching him try to be human. John can’t believe he’s falling for a man, but there are a lot of other things he’ll have to come to terms with as well. He’s a strong character with a lot of layers, something I really appreciated as the reader. I like to sink in and feel my characters’ love and happiness; I really felt like this story delivered that. The storyline itself flows really well and is believable. This story has some hot man love but that’s not what drives this story along, which is something I like. There is real meat to this story which had me sinking into it, and wanting more. I know I’ll want to read the next book in this series as soon as Ms. Lynn and Ms. Grey write it. There is love and happiness and one quirky vampire whom I’m glad I got the chance to get to know. |
