Ben Chapel runs into a strange man in the park who doesn’t speak and is dressed like a mime. Ben takes him back to his house for breakfast. What happens next is a surprise to both men.  

Not One Word by Kim Dare is the start of a great love story; I didn’t feel this was a finished story but rather the start of a story.  It left me with a lot of questions, such as how will Ben feel when he finds out why Luke was dressed as a mime?  Can their relationship handle the truth?   

The question about whether or not their relationship could handle the truth makes this only an okay book for me.  I would like to have seen the loose ends tied up just a little more. The fact Ben brings a mime he doesn’t know back to his home and has this great sex with him borders on the unbelievable. I am a huge fan of Ms. Dare’s work, but this story failed on many levels for me.
