Xavier Sparks played poker with his friends every week and as he looked at his hand of four kings he knew that he held a winning hand.  Only a flush would beat him.  One by one his friends folded, leaving only Henry, but Henry sweetened the pot with courtside tickets to a basketball game that had Xavier salivating; those tickets had cost five hundred dollars!  Once Henry hooked him in with thoughts of that sweet pot plus the tickets, Xavier knew he had to win.  Then, Henry threw in the clunker that Xavier had to pose nude for his art class if he lost.  As senior partner at Sparks, Martin, and Baker he played poker all the time with clients and judges and rarely lost-hell, he would bite.  The next day, Xavier found himself disrobing for Henry's class and he needed a rum and coke badly, Henry had told him that he needed ten minutes to lecture before Xavier was needed and his watch seemed to spin fast; he was so not ready to do this but a bet was a bet and he made his way to the class.  Once there, Henry motioned for him to sit.  He tried looking everywhere except the students but one woman peaked his interest and he felt himself getting hard.  Xavier had had his share of women but none had affected him this way and after class he asked Henry for her name, but Henry refused, telling him to ask her himself, but once he turned to do just that, she was gone.

Her doctor had told Kelleye Matthews that she needed to destress and suggested an art class.  She had put herself through college and passed the bar her first time.  Kelleye had clerked for Judge Thompson and researched the best law firm in Dallas, practiced in front of her mirror the answers to her interview questions over and over until they felt natural. Once sitting in class, Kelleye tried hard not to stare at the chocolate hunk sitting in front of her, but she felt her nipples tightened and her juices flow.  This had never happened to her before and she had no time for relationships so why did just looking at this man have her thinking of stability and a family?  Once class was over, she saw the two talking and glance at her and she fled to the restroom as if the hounds of hell were after her!

Once again, Lyric James pens a great story that left me breathless.  The plot flowed smoothly and hooked me from the first page as well as leaving me aching for these two to get together.  Once they did boy did the pages sizzle. A must read for romantic fans everywhere!  I am desperately seeking more works from this author.
