Phillip and Jonathan return home after the war with Napoleon and find the woman they both want to marry, Maggie. While the men know they want to share a marriage with Maggie, she doesn’t know their plans. Phillip and Jonathan plan for Phillip to marry Maggie and prepare her for the reality of a three way marriage. Plans go awry when Phillip and Maggie’s marriage fails in the bedroom. Jonathan returns to help things along. As the men seduce Maggie they are drawn to each other. They soon realize their friendship has slowly grown into a deep love. Maggie comes to accept all aspects of her men and their marriage. She is then savagely attacked and the marriage shatters. Bravo, Samantha Kane! Love Under Siege grabbed me from the first word and held me until the last. I was riveted. This is a book with it all. Phillip and Jonathan are incredibly tender with Maggie. Maggie struggles to accept what the men want from her. I loved that she accepted Phillip and Jonathan’s love for each other. Some of the love scenes have a bit of BDSM which is very well done. There is a villain in Love Under Siege, but I found him to be a relatively minor aspect of the book. The real joy in reading the book comes from Maggie, Phillip, and Jonathan and the journey they travel to happiness. Samantha Kane has a flair for historical settings. Regency England is beautifully depicted. Not many authors introduce ménage and homosexuality into historical books, yet Samantha Kane expertly does. Love Under Siege is a book that is worth reading time and again. |
