Detective Lewis Keating has had it with men cheating on him. When a cop in his precinct is convicted on a tampering with evidence charge, it is up to him to investigate the man’s old case files. That is when he finds a case concerning Cecil Waters. Now he has to go to Brac Village to see if the allegations in the file are true or not.  The man turns out not to be home but Evan Triamande is. 

The attraction between Lewis and Evan is instantaneous but Evan gets angry that Lewis doesn’t feel the mate pull. Or so he thinks.  Evan is always in control and having a Mate that runs from him is something he cannot control. Lewis believes Evan is like every other man he has met and is not going to risk his heart with him. To top it off Maverick has forbidden Evan to force the issue with Lewis. How can Evan show his mate he is different and will not hurt him? 

Brac Pack 10: Lewis’s Dream by Lynn Hagen was one of those stories I just could not put down. I love the sense of real alpha males that Ms. Hagen brings to this series.  This is not really a standalone nor is it meant to be as the characters in the series build on themselves and it really enriches the storyline for the better. I never thought I would really appreciate a series with so many of the characters we already know but this one just gets better and better. Lewis has been burned many times before. He is a loving caring person and does not want to put his heart out there again to be trampled on. Evan is a warrior to the marrow of his bones. He wants to protect, defend and keep his mate close. This courting thing is driving him a little nuts. He doesn’t know how to handle being patient. But Lewis will teach him that and more.

I think this is a great addition to the Brac Pack Series and cannot wait to read much more in this series. Ms. Hagen has introduced us to a group of men who love hard and fight just as hard to protect what is there and I cannot get enough of them.
