When the teenage Jackson is shot and left for dead on the side of the road, he meets his mate but is too young for a claiming. Four years later, when he turns 18, he expects Talon to claim him. But he doesn’t, and Jackson cannot understand why. Patiently, he waits another three years and still, Talon has not made a move. Talon is brooding and there's not much tender and gentle about him. He is cursed with a rare genetic disease that will kill him. He knows that if he claims Jackson, it will leave the young man open to the same suffering, so he has choosen not to claim his mate. When Jackson starts dreaming about the brother he left behind in his old pack, he realizes the dreams are really calls for help. He knows he has to go back and rescue him. Will Talon claim Jackson before it is too late for them both? I really liked this particular addition to the Moonlight Breed series by Gabrielle Evans. In Whispers in the Night, the connection between Talon and Jackson is electric. Even before they claim each other, the verbal foreplay was extremely hot as is the hotter-than-sin sex that was to come. Talon is s complete alpha male. This gets in his way a lot as he doesn’t really stop to think about the entire situation from his mate’s point of view. Lucky for him, Jackson is tenacious; he isn’t going to let his mate get away without a fight. Jackson might be the weaker of the two, but he is definitely the more seductive. This series should be read in order as we meet people from previous books in this one, which is another factor in making me really want the next in this series to come out so I can see how Talon and Jackson are getting on. Or getting it on! |
