When Shawn took a job working in the cologne counter at a busy department story, he hoped it would lead to more, but after two years he has yet to be promoted to a better position. Not only is his job not going anywhere, his love life is at a standstill too. That is, until he meets a gorgeous hunk at the cologne counter.  Graham flirts with Shawn, and Shawn hopes for more, but when he finds out that Graham already has a lover, he feels he has to give up Graham.  But is he right? 

Scent of Attraction by Pender Mackie is a sweet romance. Shawn is at a standstill in his life. His best friend thinks he just needs to get laid, but Shawn knows it is more than that.  He doesn't want just a love life; he wants Mr. Right not Mr. Right Now.  Graham is a free spirit; he laughs easily and is perfect for Shawn.  But is really taken already?

I liked getting to know these men and watching their sweet romance unfold.  I really liked how the characters leapt off the pages, making me really care about them. I was sorry to see them go at the end. It made me want to read more of Ms. Mackie's work in the future.
