Captured, imprisoned and beaten, Drone Vampire Nolan is at the mercy of the Pure Born and their merciless regulation. His hearing and sight have been taken from him, but he is still fighting for his life when another prisoner, the dark warlock Donovan, takes notice of him and comes to his rescue. Donavan and Nolan quickly fall in love, but will the devastating secret  Donovan hold close to his vest tear them apart when they are rescued?

Enslaved by Blood by Stephani Hecht is book 10 in the Drone Vampire series.  I started reading this series with this book and I really enjoyed it, so much so that I want to go back and read the first nine stories. Ms. Hecht quickly drew me into this story and into the lives and hardships of these characters, but I wish I had known more about the past drama that Nolan and his kind have been involved in. Nolan is strong and not willing to betray those he loves, but in this book he is beaten up more than anyone deserves.

Likewise, Donavan and his brothers have been through hell on the other side of this conflict. What I liked was his gentleness and good nature. Even in a situation that would break most people, he hangs onto his humanity and kindness.

Despite being new to the series, I really found this book to be a wonderful read.  I felt such a part of the story that I didn’t want to let it go, and I think readers who follow the Drone Vampire series are going to LOVE this wonderful addition to it.
