Doctor Sophie Gable had seen Thomas Nicasio watching her in the office where his brother worked, but he had always kept his distance. She's on summer vacation and he shows up unexpectedly on her dock at the lake, looking mussed and dazed. She knows he's been dealing with a lot in his personal life lately, but until now their lives had barely crossed. Now he's saying he came for her. They get their groove on and he splits before she wakes up. The next time she sees him he's being escorted by two serious-looking guys she suspects might be feds so she decides it's a good idea to pretend she doesn't know him. He does the same but he's obviously affected by seeing her again. Thomas’s adoptive brother and nephew were killed in a supposed accident, but Sophie suspects it was a mafia-related hit. He’s caught in a dangerous game but his memory isn't working right, and now they're both in danger.

Explosive immediately gives you a sense of why Beth Kery is on everyone's ‘Wow!’ list. Thomas has a dominant, intense, raging lust for Sophie and when it’s combined with her eager willingness it creates a delicious intensity that I love. The book also had a great element of suspense that kept me guessing.

This was an overall fantastic book with powerful emotions and I hated to put it down. I probably would have read cover to cover in one sitting if I didn't have to eat, sleep, and work. This is a very highly recommended keeper.
