When Brenda arrives on Zorn, mourning the death of her bound – a sweet, gentle warrior named Valho – in an alien attack on their ship while enroute from earth, she is resigned to becoming the bound, according to Zorn law, of Valho's brother Volder. With Volder off planet, she's taken in by Argis Rever and his bound Tina until Volder returns. What she doesn't expect in the week she spends with Rever and Tina is to fall head over heals for Rever, the gallant warrior son of Zorn's leader. Rever made the biggest mistake of his life in taking Tina as his bound. The woman is a shrew and a harlot. There is no love in his pairing with her. She flirts with other men, shaming Rever, and complains non-stop about anything and everything. Rever's life with her is one miserable argument after another. His future looks bleak indeed. Then he meets Brenda, a woman worthy of his love – a woman with whom he finds the deepest of all loves. But being already bound to Tina, he must let Brenda go to Volder, a man who is nothing like the tender-hearted Valho. Or does he? Perhaps there is another option open to him, but it's one that spells danger for both of them. And it would lay shame upon the illustrious heads of his entire ruling family. WOW! If you haven't already read Tempting Rever, by Laurann Dohner, break out a brand new box of tissues and buy it today! Brenda and Rever go through more painful trials and tribulations to be together than I could emotionally handle in one sitting. Yet, I couldn't put this book down! I read it in one night, and when I was done, I felt as if I'd been through more ups and downs than a 1912 elevator. When an author can squeeze that kind of emotion from her readers, she knows she's done her job. Rest assured Ms. Dohner, you've done your job with Tempting Rever! This third installment to the Zorn Warriors series takes up somewhat where Kidnapping Casey left off, in that Brenda and Casey were taken on the same mission to earth. This book begins after Brenda arrives on Zorn, expecting to become the bound of Volder following the loss of Valho in the alien attack that occurred in Kidnapping Casey. You do not have to read books one and two in this series to enjoy Tempting Rever, but I always advise readers to start at the beginning of a series that's as good as this one is. You won't regret it. Sparks definitely fly when Brenda and Rever meet. After being abused by her human husband for four years, starting a new life on Zorn with a genuinely nice man like Valho seemed Brenda’s best option. But he's killed in an alien attack and she's left adrift, wondering and worrying over what kind of man she's to be given to. When she and Rever set eyes on each other, it's instant combustion. The heat between these two jumps off the pages in some of the most sensual and titillating sex scenes I've ever read. But Rever belongs to another woman. Had he been happy with Tina and had she treated him with the devotion and respect he deserved, Brenda is too principled, too considerate, and too willing to forsake her own happiness for his to have ever touched him. And Rever is the kind of man who would not have strayed. He's courageous, scrupulous, and dedicated to upholding his family's reputation as well as Zorn law. Yet, he loves Brenda far more than he could ever have imagined caring for anyone. What he chooses to do to be with her will win any reader's heart. I'm a longtime Laurann Dohner fan. I've read just about everything she's ever written, so I can honestly say Tempting Rever is her best work to date. Don't miss it! |
