Olivia Jane Weston is a voracious reader of romance novels and believes, with enthusiastic wonder, in heroes and happy endings. While meticulously organizing the library of her Aunt Kate, Livvy discovers the diary of her aunt’s stepson’s deceased wife and a brooch with a tender inscription by the now reclusive widower, Jason Traherne, Marquess of Sheldon. Immediately, Livvy’s adventurous heart wants to go with her Aunt Kate to spend Christmas with the withdrawn Marquess and his ailing son in the isolated castle in remote Wales. Her curious and nurturing spirit determines that the illusive Marquess and his son need her help to heal their broken hearts. Jason Traherne, Marquess of Sheldon, has determined never to open his heart to the pain of love again having suffered the loss of his mother who abandoned him to run away with her secret lover and having lost his own wife in a terrible accident. He only tolerates the presence of his stepmother and her young daughter who dutifully come to visit during Christmas holidays each year as he considers them his only family other than his son. When the bright-eyed beauty, Olivia Jane Weston, arrives at his doorstep with his stepmother, he is at once angry and intrigued. In Olivia Weston, Sara Lindsey has created the most delightful character that I have seen in quite some time. Her curiosity, sensibility, fearlessness, and adventurous spirit are only matched by her unyielding love and misplaced actions. Tempting A Marquess is further brought to life by the mysterious and brooding Marguess, Jason, who is determined to escape the wiles and wonder of Livvy. Ms. Lindsey presents a loving Aunt Kate who is delightfully interfering and a huge loving Weston family. Ms. Lindsey also creates an interesting character, Sir Charles, the Marquess’s brother-in-law, who seems a dashing gentleman. I hope Ms. Lindsey will see fit to write a story for him as well. Tempting A Marquess is filled with humor and tenderness that seem to be a trademark of Ms. Lindsey . Each of her books gets better and better. I look forward to reading her next Weston Novel, A Rogue For All Seasons about Olivia’s brother, Henry. If you love experiencing a riot of emotions and characters that leap off the pages, you will love reading Tempting A Marquess. I loved it and highly recommend it. |
