When Maddoc decides to put to use a free two week pass the last thing he expects is to fit in well with the camaraderie of a small set of gym members. His shy nature fits in well with his co-worker Dan and the outrageously outspoken Lonnie. When he meets a sliver-haired sexy man named Ivan, he finds himself drawn further into the pack of unruly guys. Maddoc would like nothing more than to get to know Ivan on a more personal level but is fearful of rejection. When a danger in his personal life surfaces, he finds that the guy he wants in his life is strong enough to help him and willing to aide him, without having to ask. Ivan is enamored with Maddoc and for the first time he’s able to talk about his military life with another being, along with how he’s healed from a personal loss. In Maddoc, he’s found something he can cherish for life but only if he can help solve the danger that leaves his lover haunted and scared of his own shadow. Concerned for Maddoc , Ivan shows him how to protect himself until they can solve the issue at hand. Making Maddoc forget is the easy part, the hard part is getting him to overcome his fears for their future. Pump Me Up by Andew Grey is a charming read. Being afraid of the unknown is a horrible feeling that can affect every aspect of a person’s life. I loved how Ivan stepped up and took control in that Military way. Watching a budding friendship grow from a courtship to physical relationship warmed my heart. Ivan’s kind hearted words to Maddoc made me grin. I’d recommend this read to any number of friends. |
