Daniel Evans, Doc as the men call him, is a navy seal - big, strong and very masculine. He loves being part of Cole’s special ops team. Five years ago, the men were part of a special government program that had enhanced their special abilities, making them more agile and aggressive. When their handlers decided they were too dangerous to live, Daniel had believed the men should live and had helped them escape. He now doctors their wounds and finds ways to help them adapt to their abilities and the toll they take on their bodies and minds. Daniel really wants Samuel Mckenzie, another member of the team. The big strong operative is everything Doc has ever dreamed of, but there's one problem. Sam is not gay. When it begins to look like Sam might return his feelings, Doc will do anything to make it work. But Sam has a secret, and loving Doc could blow it out into the open, endangering them all. Lovers of Alpha Squad 2: The Doctor’s Patience by Stormy Glenn is really named well. Sam has never had feelings for a man before, that is, until Daniel. Doc needs a ton of patience to deal with his reticense, plus all the baggage he brings into their budding relationship. Sam and his twin Skyler have not had it easy. Sam is the older twin and has always been the protector of his younger brother Skyler. They have a domineering father who believes in absolute control. He has plans for Sam and will do anything to make them come true. Doc is openly gay. He loves working with all the high-tech toys the Team gets for him. He is also willing to give Sam more than one chance to come around to his way of thinking. The problem is, Sam keeps throwing those chances back in Doc’s face. How many more times can one man get his heart broken and still give it another shot? I really loved the chemistry between Sam and Doc; it leapt off the pages and into my heart. I found the back story of Apha Squad to be much more developed in this novel than the first, and I really appreciated that. We are introduced again to Cole, his twin and their lover so you want to read these books in order to understand who is who, but this one is by far the best developed in the series so far. When you want ops that will steal your heart and take your breath away, you want The Doctor’s Patience. |
