Jayda Kynslan moved to the rugged Montana mountains to get away from her lying, cheating ex. In an effort to purge him from her mind, she sets out to seduce the first man she sees. When her eyes lock in on her intended target, she finds she may be in way over her head.

Chief of Police, Cole Takoda sees the new woman in town and blind lust seizes him. Between her and the other cougar shifter problems in his town, he’s not sure if she’s what she seems to be or an imposter. He knows what he smells and that there’s something different about her.

When a murder is discovered and she’s linked, he’s forced to treat her without bias. In order to get down to the bottom of what’s happening in his town, he must solve the murder and find out what she is.

Jayda doesn’t know what to believe, but when her ex waltzes in to save her ass, she must follow him to protect herself and hope for the truth to emerge. What she finds is more than she’s willing to accept. Only with Cole's help can she find out who and hat she really is.

Bounded Souls by Nina Pierce, the prequel to her Shifting Bonds series, grabbed me by the heart strings. I felt for the betrayed woman and hoped she’d find closure and the perfect man for her. This is a sensual read with lots of intense heat. The suspense and action kept the pages turning, while the passion inflamed my cheeks to a bright red.  I’d recommend this book to any number of friends and am looking forward to reading more from Nina Pierce.

This book was published elsewhere before joining the rest of this super series at Ellora's Cave.
