Destiny St. George is a lioness shapeshifter. She is also a private investigator who specializes in the paranormal underground world she lives in. When she is hired to find a wealthy surgeon's wife, she grudgingly accepts the case, a case that puts her right in the middle of a serious plot to kill the man she wants so desperately to love but can't accept.
Marcus Smythe, was considered the vampire King of the area. He also considered Destiny his, even though a small glitch was putting a cramp in his love interest. Destiny can't bring herself to accept his way of life, but now that she has come back to him, he isn’t about to let her get away again. Needing answers that she knows only he can provide, Destiny has no choice but to put her trust in the man she wants so badly to be hers forever. The problem is he can’t feed from her as often as he needs to and she isn’t sure she can accept the numerous faces that he will feed from. But chemistry and the heart are no match for logic. Destiny has a hard time denying the man who holds her heart.
However, Destiny’s best friend Yasmine, who is not a fan of Marcus, has no such qualms. With her wedding fast approaching, she sees an opportunity to play matchmaker. It just so happens that Yas’ fiancée knows a male lion shifter who is coming to the wedding. Luke is definitely everything Destiny's inner lioness is calling out for. He is easy to be around, one of her kind, and way too sexy for his own good. Now Destiny has some serious thinking to do. Stay hung up on the vampire? Or give in and have a romp with the lion?
When the investigation starts to heat up, and Destiny gets close to her target's whereabouts, loyalties are going to be tested, and Destiny will have to face betrayals at every turn. Does love conquer all? And if it does, whose love will save her and whose love will forsake her?
Blood and Destiny by Kaye Chambers: WOW, I was glued to this story! Ms. Chambers knows how to create romantic suspense at its very best. I was so utterly torn between the men who enter Destiny’s life. On one hand, you have the romantic, suave and debonair Marcus. On the other you have a laid back, utterly sexy lion. The passion between the three of them is flammable. It had me wishing for an ice pack, but it was the shocking twist of events that sent my mind spiraling and my fingers anxiously gripping the edge of my laptop as I read furiously to find out what would happen next to this thoroughly engaging heroine.
Wonderful job, Ms. Chambers! Blood and Destiny, a recommended read, hands down, is only my first stop in your sexy, exciting world. I can't wait to see what you'll write next!
