Highland Gaymes by Carol Lynne

Shaw Fitzgerald is the youngest brother in the Brothers Fitzgerald Celtic band. He loves what he does. He gets to travel the country and watch the Highland Games take place. All those brawny men in kilts are enough to make a gay man like him drool. There is one man in particular that he has always wanted to get closer to, Curt Macaula. He has been the star of more than one wet dream for Shaw. When Curt shows interest back and they start dating, Shaw must face the toughest thing he has ever had to face. He has to tell his straight, women-loving older brothers that he is gay and wants to be in an open relationship with Curt. Will they accept his choice or beat Curt up and force him to leave the man he loves with all his heart?

Carol Lynne brings brawny men in kilts to a whole new level in Highland Gaymes. I will forever wonder now, when I see a man in a kilt, what is under that little piece of cloth. Shaw is a shy baby brother. He has been taken care of all his life by his brothers so they are very protective of him. Curt is ten years older than Shaw and knows what he wants out of a relationship. But can he have the open relationship he wants with a man who has not come out yet and travels in a band? Read Highland Gaymes and find out how love can conquer all.

Good Cop, Bad Cop by Jude Mason and Jenna Byrnes

Kevin Sands and his partner Dave McAdams like to play sex games. The one they are playing today involves Kevin playing a bartender and Dave the man he ravishes in the back room. Their good friend Tony has let them use his bar to play out their fantasy. After they are done they have to go back to their real lives as police officers. Everyone knows they are gay, but no one knows they are committed to each other; if they did, they would not be able to partners anymore. When Tony gets kidnapped and their secret threatens to be exposed, they will have to choose what is more important, Tony’s life or the relationship they have together.

Good Cop, Bad Cop was an so-so read for me. I found the twists and turns to be a bit much in such a short story. Nothing is what is seems and no one is really who they say they are, but that is all I will say as I don’t want to spoil the story for you. I do know that when you want a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next, Good Cop, Bad Cop will fulfill your needs.

Elliot’s War by Kim Dare

Elliot Channing is playing a war game on campus. Right now he is a Roman being chased by a group of Celtic Warriors. If they catch him, he has to be their slave for two weeks. There is a dozen of them and only one of him. He ends up running straight into Parry, the most sexy one of them all. Parry doesn’t usually play war games but he wants Elliot to be his slave, not for two weeks but for one night of no holds bared sex with Elliot as Parry’s sub. When Elliot agrees to the one night of bliss, he finds one night just might not be enough.

Elliot’s War explores the relationship between a master and sub and what being a sub really means. I love how Ms. Dare brings the spice of BDSM and a loving romance together in her stories to leave the reader really happy he/she picked up her novel. I found this short story to be one I didn’t want to ever end. When you want a m/m story done with the right amount of spice you'll want to pick up a Kim Dare novel. This short story about making love, not war exemplifies what's good about Ms. Dare's writing.  It doesn't get any hotter!

Crossed Hearts by Lisabet Sarai

Jason Hofstadter is participating in the annual Four States Scrabble Championship. He came to play scrabble and get laid like he does every year. No strings, just fun and sex.  When he meets Matthew Sawyer, a guy new to the game, he thinks he has found the perfect bed partner for the event. But Matthew turns the tables on this playboy and becomes something more, maybe even a lover for all time.

Lisabet Sarai makes the game of scrabble so hot in Crossed Hearts you might get your fingers singed. Jason is a playboy who knows he is hot. Matthew is a farm boy getting over loosing the love of his life. Together they are perfect, they just need to realize it. When you're in the mood for some hot BDSM action, Crossed Hearts will fill the bill.

Rough Riders by Devon Rhodes

Luke Briscoe is breaking up with his lover Mario Santos. Mario and he have been together for ten years, but Mario wants to be out of the closet and Luke is scared to take a step out. He made that step once before and got burned badly. If Mario dumps him, he doesn’t know how he will get over it. They both own the three-sport competive team Rough Riders. When new player Derek Grimm finds Luke crying over Mario, Derek knows he is the man for Luke. He doesn’t want to shove Luke out of the closet; he wants to gently pull him out and prove that his protection is all Luke needs to be truly free.

Rough Riders is a complicated but fun read. I loved Luke's character. He has a very complicated past.  His many layers grab you and make you cheer for him and cry with him too. I liked Mario too. I hope one day he gets his own story and a love that he deserves. Luke is so destined to be with Derek; he just needs to see it. When you desire a love story you will never forget, Rough Riders gets it done.

Contact Point by Gwendolyn Cease

Jesse Chandler goes into a biker bar to escape the rain. He thinks its just a leather bar, but what it really is, is a shifter's bar. Bar owner Cade Reynolds knows he should just show Jesse the door, but he smells something different about Jesse, something he cannot walk away from. After one night with the little man, Cade realizes that Jesse is his mate. Now he has to convince Jesse that taking a chance on werewolf is worth the risk for a love of a life time.

Contact Point was my favorite read in this series. I love m/m novels; throw in werewolves and I am in Heaven! I loved the chemistry, the action and the plotline. This one is werewolves done right. I hope to pick up more from this author in the future. There is violence in this short story that might not be suitable for all readers, but it's really well done and a great part of the story. When you want a story with sexy were’s done right, Contact Point won't disappoint.

Over all, Gaymes Anthology is a novel that any lover of m/m romance should not miss. There is love, respect and BDSM to keep you engaged and wanting more. You might even find an author you'll want to read more of, like I did. This book is going on my keeper shelf for sure.
