 | Title: Wicked Ties Author: Shayla Black Publisher: Berkley Genre: Contemporary, BDSM Publication date: January 2007 ISBN: 0-425-21361-7 Pages: 352 Series: | Morgan runs a late-night cable talk show, which tackles sexual problems of all types. She is also a closet submissive interested in exploring the lifestyle under the guise of her research for her show. She seems content to leave her thoughts of submission as mere fantasy, until circumstances make everything change. Someone has been stalking Morgan, and has even located her far away from her home of L.A. Morgan is understandably feeling quite vulnerable and at risk. Nobody but her closest friends know she’s in Texas and it should be impossible for this twisted admirer to find her in Houston. He’s clearly tracked her every move and could do her harm any minute. Despite this worry, Morgan decides to meet a Dominant she’s corresponded with online. Master J., otherwise known as Jack, is incredibly sexy and protects her when her stalker reacts to this casual meeting with violence. Soon the Master proves himself apt at guarding her body and penetrating her soul. But it won’t be smooth sailing and Master J.’s motives may be far from pure. Wicked Ties grabbed me from the very start. Shayla Black wrote a story that was riveting on many levels. The emotion and characterization were incredible and her plotting made this a book I read in one sitting. The romantic tension built wonderfully and the BDSM scenes added another layer to characterization and the relationship between Morgan and Jack. Wicked Ties is wickedly satisfying!
