Detective Rafe Jackson is trying to bust a major Miami heroin dealer who likes to pimp out and beat up women on the side. When the drug lord makes a mistake and beats up a waiter in public, the police think they can finally nail him. Not only for battery but it looks like the waiter will not make it so he could go away for murder. Their entire investigation hinges on one witness to this crime--Madison Dubois. Madison now must be protected.

There is a leak at the police station and there is only one man whom she can trust to protect her now. That is her brother’s best friend, Rafe. Madison has always wanted Rafe to see her as a woman not his best friend's sister, and now she turns to him for protection. When protecting her turns to love for Rafe, he has to make sure his new love stays alive before the drug lord succeeds in killing her.

Miami Heat by Savannah Stewart is a beautiful story about friendship turning into more under pressure. When you’re forced to be together knowing this could be your last chance, what would you do? Would you take a chance on love or let duty get in the way? Rafe has been a friend to the Dubois family for years. They are the only family he has ever had, so his taking a chance and loving Madison is a huge risk for him. But to him Madison is worth the risk.

Madison is a woman of privilege. She hasn’t had to work for much in her life, but she has a good spirit and would never demean or harm anyone. She is a true lady in every sense of the word. She has always thought of Rafe as more than her brother’s friend. Now she is going to be sure he sees her that way too.

I loved the heat and the soul in this story. The truly romantic nature paired with the action and suspense kept me turning the pages and wanting more. When you want a truly romantic story to fall in love with that has some action sprinkled in, you want Miami Heat.
