Owen Rhys lives his life ingesting other's sins. An outcast of society, he had but one true friend in young lass Carys. Alone for many years, he only dealt with others when called. Death came to his land, bringing with it vampyres, and the remembrance from his departed father to steer clear. Needing a scapegoat to blame, the towns people looked only to Sin Eater Owen as the murderer, forgetting the same man helped to bring their cherished loved ones to peace.

Doctor Andras Maddock, the town physician, hides secrets of his own. The owner of a powerful weapon, he has the ability to do great things. While the secret he hides is dark, he lives to honor a promise made, to take care of the town folk, and more importantly Owen.

He doesn’t plan on succumbing to yearnings that plague him , but fails. Passion ignites between the two men, while danger hovers like a dark cloud over all. With perceived evil a definite threat, Andras must fight the biggest battle of his life, for his man who has sacrificed himself for a greater purpose.

Sin Eater by Keta Diablo took me on a fast paced ride. I’ve never imagined Wales  to be as beautiful as her description. Lost in her world, I found myself captivated by the characters, both villain and hero. The plot thickened just when I’d thought it would taper, leaving me breathless, on the same journey of both Andras and Owen. Their ending surpassed my initial thoughts and delighted me. I’ve never seen anyone write like Keta Diablo. I enjoyed this read and give it the Recommended Read Award.
