Sometimes fate puts us in the strangest situations - she tempts us to do what we should not and in doing this opens our lives up to a whole new world. 

Mackenzie had always had a problem with locked doors, stemming from terrible abuse at the hands of foster parents. Her revulsion of them is quite understandable.  So unlocking the door to a BDSM dungeon was quite a shock to her. 

Mac thought that by doing a house exchange she would be saving money and could help somebody out at the same time. The owner needed somebody that was good with animals and that was her specialty. She came to Seattle to start a new life as a veterinarian and leave her horrible and shameful past behind. As she is exploring the new found dungeon, guess who comes home? He has no qualms about punishing disobedience and opening a locked door sets Mackenzie’s future in motion.   

Alex was a little irritated that he missed his flight to the conferences in the Midwest. He figured he could surely work something out with the woman staying in his home. There was plenty of space and they would never see each other. So he was stunned when he entered the house and noticed the dungeon room door open. He knew he had locked it before he left. Even more stunning was the picture presented to him when he walked in the room. The little woman had herself stretched over the spanking bench. What could he possibly do but give her what she so obviously needed?

Mackenzie’s past will come back to haunt her again and again and what she at first finds repulsive, she soon finds it to be the only thing that arouses her. She was not only abused as a child, but far too young and innocent for the world she was thrown into. Never knowing a gentle hand, can she learn to trust Alex with not only her body but her heart? Or will her past come back to hurt them both even in a city that seems worlds away? Alex’s need to protect and nurture comes raging full force after meeting Mac. There is something hidden under all that stubborn armor and he is just the man to find out what it is. Will he be able to bring her out of her shell and can he do it without falling for her? 

Once again Cherise Sinclair weaves a captivating tale with The Dom’s Dungeon. I don’t know how she keeps doing it, but her stories just get better and better. The psyche of Mackenzie will make your heart ache. She was so terribly abused and alone as a child and young adult that you find yourself rooting for the two of them to make it. As with all Ms. Sinclair’s stories, this was a page turner and I just kept thinking to myself - oh please, let this work for Mac, please, please. I’ll leave the ending for you to discover. The Dom’s Dungeon is a BDSM novel so beware. There is very strong sexual content in the book that some may find objectionable. There are experiences that Alex gives Mackenzie to help free her from her past and help her realize what love really is. I personally found it enlightening. Fantastic job again by Cherise Sinclair!
