 | Title: Under His Protection Author: Denise A. Agnew Publisher: Liquid Silver Books Genre: Suspense Publication date: 2009 ISBN: 9781595785480 Pages: 170 Series: Heart of Justice Reviewer: Sin | | | | How much bad luck can one woman have? Olivia Scott handles being accosted and attacked with poise instead of playing the swooning victim. Cool and capable, the Englishwoman stands her ground, even when rescued by the SWAT’s very best. Not once but twice. In Trey's arms she lets go of the stereotype and shows him just what type of woman she is under the conservative clothing, even giving him glimpses of her childhood, during the time they spend together. When Trey MacGilvary intercepts a suspicious culprit and inadvertently saving a woman, two things happen. One, he ends up meeting someone he’d very well like to get to know better and two, he realizes there is more to life than just his job. When they end up spending time together out of necessity, he gets to know more about Olivia than he lets on. Trust and passion play a key role in their newly developed relationship. Passion unfurls into a deeper need that scares both of them. Intimacy isn’t just about sex but trusting the most personal deeper secrets of what comprises each of them. Under His Protection by Denise A. Agnew draws us into the complicated life of a public servant and deranged psychopath. It takes us away from our safety zone and shows us what lurks under the surface of the people that we interact with daily. I enjoyed reading this suspenseful story and how it exploded into a strong love between Olivia and Trey. Complex stories keep me riveted and I'm always sad when they're over. Ms. Agnew keeps me waiting for more as even the secondary family members are wonderful. I’m interested in reading more books in this series and hoping to see a story about Trey’s birth mother emerge. I would definitely recommend reading Under His Protection by Denise A. Agnew. |
