Warning: Contains references to violence, abuse, and torture that may not be suitable for the faint of heart. Kelly Greene is a psychic that helps find missing children. After rescuing a kidnapped child, she finds the man that subdued the kidnapper, injured, and hiding in the back seat of her vehicle. He needs her help and since she senses only fear and confusion from him, she agrees to help him.
Saxxon can only remember bits and pieces of his past and his present consists only of “fulfilling the mission.” When he’s injured, he seeks help from the only person that’s ever offered it. While he fears who and what he is might hurt Kelly, he’s drawn to her and for once, wants to experience some sort of pleasure, instead of unspeakable pain.
My emotions ran the entire gamut while reading Forgiven. I experienced everything from sadness to happiness, fear to elation, and desire to desolation. The suffering that Saxxon endured was heartbreaking. L. Shannon is a thoughtful and creative writer and her attention to detail kept me riveted. My heart was racing not knowing what was going to happen from one minute to the next. While reading about the pain and suffering was difficult at times, Forgiven is exciting with a detailed storyline and deep character development.
