From an early age, Boaz McKenzie has been instilled with the duty to place family first in his life. He’s lost most of his young adulthood taking care of the family ranching business due to his parents’ tragic death over a decade ago. Bo is known as the reliable one whom everyone in the family turns to. Lately he wonders if all the sacrifices he’s made have been worth it since he has no personal life. Upset with Nana Dori’s call for an important family meeting, he is surprised by her ultimatum this evening. Deciding to have a fling at the local bar and get rip roaring drunk, he hopes to get lucky in the sack as well. Sommer St. Clair is a San Francisco divorce attorney looking to let off some steam at the Lucky Lady Dude Ranch. She takes up Suzy’s offer going with her to the local watering hole. While speaking with Suzy, Sommer wonders if she’ll ever be as daring as the surveys say she’ll be in her favorite women’s magazine. When Suzy dares her to come onto the men in the bar, Sommer approaches the next man who walks in the door. Introducing herself to Bo, Sommer decides to have wild monkey sex with him for the night. Will their hookup just be a one night stand or the start of something more? Alyssa Brooks and Larissa Lyons start off what I hope will be a continuing contemporary western series in Restrain Me. Both Bo and Sommer hook up at the bar looking to have a fun time together and quickly realize it’s something more. Bo is struck like a deer in the headlights when he makes love to Sommer which made him all the more endearing to me. He loves Sommer’s feisty spirit and guides her along some intriguing D/s situations which had me furiously flipping the pages. Sommer loves being with a real man who knows exactly what he wants in bed. She wonders if they can continue this relationship out of the bedroom and is pleasantly amazed when Bo shows her parts of himself which he’s never shared before. While I enjoyed Restrain Me, I found myself wishing for a more of the story to be devoted to their budding relationship instead of background concerning Bo’s family. I hope Ms. Brooks and Lyons return to this setting soon because I'm sure Bo’s triplet cousins have some stories to tell of their own! |
