Wings to Fly by Beate Boeker is a story of becoming independent for Cathy. Cathy has decided she needs to leave home and become independent. While on her way to a job interview in Seattle, she has an auto accident. While spending time with Mick, the other person involved in the accident, she and Mick realize they could fall in love. But Cathy wants to be independent, and with her brother always ready to plant doubts in her mind, Cathy and Mick’s relationship seems to fizzle. But does being independent mean you can’t fall in love and rely on the other person to support your decisions? Does falling in love mean you have to give up your dreams of being independent? Can Cathy have both? Wings to Fly is a sweet tale of a young woman spreading her wings and discovering a world unknown to her. Cathy’s innocence was refreshing. She doesn’t see the bad in others. She cares about others and has not lost her ability to see the good. She and Mick are wonderful together. Both have hope and want to support each other. Neither is looking for a charmed life but for love and support.I chuckled when Mick and Cathy had to admit the truth to everybody. I felt sad when they broke up. I wanted them to be together. Beate has written a marvelously uplifting tale where the characters draw you in and you want them to have all the good things life has to offer. Simply wonderful! |
