Dreaming of You, written by Ethan Day, tells the story of Aden who is a daydreamer. He has dreamed since he was fourteen of the perfect man who will come into his life. His dreams have him talking to his dream lover who is always just out of reach. Aden and his business partner, Nathan, go to Atlanta for a restaurateur convention where Aden meets Logan, who could be the man of his dreams. Logan lives in LA while Aden’s from Missouri. They begin a long distance relationship. When Aden finally decides to go to LA to be with Logan, he and his long time friend Finn go to St. Louis where Aden will fly out to LA. While at the airport Aden believes he sees his dream man and begins stalking him. Finn follows along. Trouble ensues. Will Aden ever find his dream?

I laughed often during this story. Aden’s first person point of view was over the top at times. He just blurts out anything that comes to mind. Nathan tries to pull rein on him but Finn just follows him into his escapades. She just as wacky as he is. These characters were fun. I liked that when Aden sees the man in the airport who looks like the man of his dreams he begins to stalk him (okay, not the stalking part but the craziness that follows). Aden was just so funny as he’s planning on whether to go to Logan or to find the new man and develop a relationship with him. I liked that his friends supported him, Finn by going along with him and Nathan by being the voice of reason. I especially liked that Nathan and Finn let him decide for himself what path to choose instead of telling him what he should do.

I don’t want to ruin the story so I won’t say which man Aden chose but I liked the ending and found the characters enjoyable. I also liked how the story was present day but as Aden’s farewell dinner continues, we learn of his and Logan’s relationship until we get to the St. Louis airport where present day takes over the story. Ethan Day has given us a comedic tale with unforgettable characters in Dreaming of You.
