Adam MacKnight has come home to Princeton in order to land a big client which was being protested by an unknown competitor, the Perfect Pear. To his utter surprise he discovers his best friend’s kid sister is the owner of the Perfect Pear. Penelope Perdix is excited to see the man who was front and center in all of her adolescent fantasies. Adam doesn’t want to lose his would-be client. Penelope can’t allow Eden’s Apple Tree to take over what is rightfully hers. The attraction is overwhelming but can either come out unscathed in a no win situation?

Mardi Ballou’s Perfect Pear was indeed a treat. This story is cute and quirky. I laughed out loud at some of the thoughts going through Adam and Penelope’s mind. The dialogue is snappy and I burned through the pages to see what was going to be said next. Both characters were immediately likeable and I was rooting for them the entire way. I only wish the story would have been longer. I wanted to see Adam and Penelope dance around each other a little bit longer. Because of the short length it doesn’t allow time for the romance to build over time. In spite of that, Perfect Pear is an adorable story. I loved the sexual sparks leaping off Adam and Penelope. I look forward to reading more from this author. Oh and you will never look at a pear the same way again!
