Montgomery LaCroix is the owner of Every Desire, Redemption, Nevada’s local whorehouse. Montgomery’s first encounter with Redemption’s new sheriff occurs when she decides to confront him about the missive he sent regarding the closing of her brothel. Montgomery is a woman who has worked hard for everything she owns and she’s not about to let some johnny-come-lately take it away from her. When Wayne “Cade” Kincaid was hired as Redemption’s sheriff, he promised to help clean up the town’s image. Redemption was founded by former convicts and had become a haven for folks down on their luck and looking for a second chance. However, the gold rush had brought people from all walks of life to Redemption, which precipitated the need for the new image. The first step in his makeover is to move Every Desire from Redemption proper. The first meeting between Montgomery and Sheriff Kincaid is explosive and not just because Montgomery is giving him a piece of her mind for trying to run her out of town. After Montgomery’s attorney finds a loophole that will prevent the closure of Every Desire, Sheriff Kincaid makes her an offer she can’t refuse. Being a shrewd business woman, Montgomery proposes a counteroffer that’s sure to guarantee she and the good Sheriff get their every desire. With Every Desire, Nadia Aidan has written a quick but thoroughly scintillating tale. Montgomery and Cade both have issues from their past that they must overcome in order to have a relationship. I enjoyed watching Cade persuade Montgomery to relinquish control to him and enjoy the pleasures of submission. Both are strong and very likable characters. Every Desire is the first book in Nadia Aidan’s newest series Heroes and Harlots. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series. Ms. Aidan is quickly becoming a must read for me. |
