D is a hit man. The jobs are usually easy. You go in, kill the bad man, and get out without anyone ever knowing you were there. This time, however, things are a little different. D is hired, or rather forced, to take a job, this time he is not killing a bad man, he is supposed to kill an innocent witness. When D refuses to kill him, however, things really heat up. Jack Francisco is in the witness protection program. He has witnessed a mob hit and now they want him dead. When D shows up claiming that Jack has to go with him or possibly die from the people protecting him, he isn’t sure what to think. Jack is a doctor, not a gun toting criminal. Can he trust a man he doesn’t know, who will not tell him his name, and says he was hired to kill him? Zero at the Bone is one of best stories I have read in a long time. Jane Seville brings D and Jack to life against a back drop of high speed chases and gun fire. I kept seeing D as the man from the movie The Transporter, with the sunglasses and suits. Never know what he is thinking or going to do. To top it all off, he really has a tortured soul that needs Jack more than he thinks. Jack is a doctor; he is kind, patient and very brave. I loved how even though he could not tote a gun or bash in a bad guy, he could fight in his own ways. He uses his brains and they serve him very well. His kindness wins over D in the end too. D has had a lot of pain in his life. He thinks he doesn’t deserve love and kindness. Good thing he is trapped with Jack who is more than man enough to prove him wrong! Zero at the Bone is a MUST read for anyone who loves action movies and wants to fall in love with two very sexy men! I hope to read many more novels like this from Ms. Seville in the future; I know I will not be disappointed! |
