Ed Zachery works for Chicago’s Animal Control. He got the entire neighborhood’s call. This full moon he got a call he never expected. There was a large animal in a neighbor’s back yard. When he gets there and investigates, he realizes this is no normal animal. It’s bigger, and almost human like. He tranquilizes it, and puts it in the cage in the basement where he works. In the morning instead of a big hairy creature he has a man, a man he knows intimately - Brian Blake, a local police officer. Brian has been in Ed’s fantasies for a very long time. Seeing him now brings it all back. Brian is confused; he has no idea about how he changes or why. He needs to find out how he became a werewolf and maybe cure himself. Ed offers to help.Together they search for whomever could have made Brian a werewolf, but it turns out to be more dangerous than either expected and could turn deadly before the search is through.

Cheryl Dragon has very sexy men in Defying the Moon. Ed is a kind hearted animal control officer. He is used to doing odd jobs, getting cats out of trees, dogs out of scrapes, but not werewolves out of people’s backyards. Brian has been emotionally closed off for a very long time. He had a brief fling with Ed on New Year's that he never forgot or wanted to happen again. After all, letting people close was not something he really wanted to do. Now he might not have a choice. He needs Ed for more than just sex. Can Brian find out who turned him before he hurts someone or himself? Defying the Moon will leave you breathlessly waiting for more from Cheryl Dragon in the future.
