Camille Douglas is a woman on a mission. She desperately needs to get her family’s ranch back and she’s willing to do whatever it takes to do so. Bad decisions made by Camille’s stepmother enabled the ranch that’s been in her family since Reconstruction to fall into the hands of her family’s bitter rivals – the Downings. Is holding on to her family’s homestead worth the sacrifice being asked of her? Jacob Downing blames the Douglas family for all the bad things that has happened in his family. Now that he holds the deed to the Douglas’ most prized possession revenge has never been sweeter. But just how far is Jacob willing to go in the name of revenge? When I read the blurb for Sleeping With the Enemy’s Daughter, I was intrigued about how Ms. Aidan would spin a tale about being the mistress to four incredibly hot brothers for six months in order to regain the ranch that’s been in your family for generations. Let’s say I was not disappointed. The multiple partner sex scenes were incredibly hot and the one-on-one encounters were endearing. The back story regarding why the families disliked each other was interesting. My only complaint is that I wished Ms. Aidan would have gone into more detail about Camille’s mother’s betrayal of Jacob’s father since this was betrayal was at the heart of Jacob’s dislike for Camille and her family. In addition to the bad blood between their parents, Jacob and Camille also had issues with one another. Jacob felt Camille looked down on him while they were growing up and Camille thought that Jacob was arrogant. During Camille’s time as the Downing brothers’ mistress, she’s able to work through her issues with them all. Although, the personal trust issues that Camille and Jacob have did hinder the progress of their relationship and the exploration of the natural attraction for one another. Sleeping With the Enemy’s Daughter is a great read and I loved watching Camille’s relationship with each brother unfold as well as watching Jacob coming to terms with his true feelings for her. I don’t want to give too much of the story away but there is one scene early on in the story that leaves no doubt regarding how Jacob feels about Camille even if neither of them was able to see or admit it at that time. I encourage everyone to go out and pick up a copy of this book. |
