Marcus volunteered to help train new vampires. He has been training in parts of the US for fifty years now, and was starting to feel little desire for anything. After 300 years of being a vampire, he has given up the one thing that has kept him from going into the darkness, which is hope. He doesn’t have a bond mate, the one person on the planet that can save his soul from darkness. He has also given up hope of ever finding her. Then he meets his new trainee, Amber. Amber is an ex prostitute. She is convinced showing men you love them makes you prey to them. Marcus is supposed to guide her in all things vampire, but instead he finds himself teaching all things carnal. He has found his bond mate and he doesn’t intend to lose her, either to her fears or his own. L.A. Day brings sexy vampires to life in Prey. Marcus is old and a bit jaded. He has seen most of everything there is to see, and done a lot of it himself. He is ready to surrender his life to the void it has become. Then he meets Amber, and she becomes the light to his gloom. She is also a street-wise hussy that knows how to con a man with her wiles. And she doesn’t trust anyone. Getting her to trust him is going to be a real challenge, one that Marcus is more than up too. While I really wanted to love Prey, I found this story lacking that special spark that Ms Day brings to her stories. However, if you want some really kinky sex and something to warm you up, Prey is the story for you. |
