Jana has special abilities; she helps people with fertility issues. Even though it’s illegal in the Cities to practice this form of her magic, Jana continues to help anyone who asks. Dar is Alpha of the Snowcat Clan of Truxet. For too many years there have been few births in his clan. Deciding he can’t wait any longer, he searches for someone to help his dying clan. When Dar finally finds Jana, she has changed her name to Luna. Luna knows she is being hunted by the Beasts because she has been labeled a darkmage. She is tired of running and hiding. Dar offers her the freedom to practice her skills in his land without fear of being judged. Dar’s beast senses that Luna is his mate, and while they are making love, Snowcat tries to claim her. Terrified of the beast, Luna doesn’t understand what is happening, and her rejection of his offer hurts both of them. Luna tries to understand the ways of the clan, and both of them must learn to forgive the other. But there are enemies within the clan and without that try their patience. Snowcat only knows that his mate is unclaimed, and Luna must overcome her fear of him if she is to become his mate. Will it be too late for Luna and Dar to be together? What a fantastic, emotional, gripping book. Mima has outdone herself with A Bonded Fantasy: Alpha Within. She has been able to write three separate books of exceptional quality that have kept this reader glued to her seat. Luna is a very brave, but lonesome heroine who learns she can trust others to help her. She is the kind of woman who is a joy to read about. Dar is Alpha, but not too proud to realize he needs help with the survival of his clan. A strong hero, but he is also compassionate and humble. I love a hero like that. Mima has a talent for creating a world full of colorful characters that is a pleasure to read about. I have loved all three of her A Bonded Fantasy series and would strongly encourage everyone to read them. I hope she keeps this series going; I could read a book about each clan she has created. |
