Skye Ranson and Dane Fortune are in trouble. Not only have these two time travelers landed in the Amazon Jungle, dressed in gear better suited to the frozen tundra, but their time bender has been damaged. Now, as they argue their way through the thick, primitive jungle, with no idea what year they are visiting, they're both living on borrowed time. Skye is attempting to cope with the newfound knowledge that the man she is with—her growing love interest—is a cold-blooded killer. Worse: he's the man who killed her parents.

Dane Fortune was ordered to kill the entire Ranson family. Instead, he seduced Skye, had sex with her in the bathroom, and has just confessed that he's eliminated the rest of her family. Now, they're both stuck in the jungle, and Dane is stuck on this woman he was supposed to assassinate. This feisty female is furious with him, and the heat of her anger only heats his blood. He can't forget how close he came to losing her on the snow-covered mountain they've left behind, and since they can't leave until the time bender resets itself, they might as well make peace…and love.

Michelle Miles pens an exciting story. This is the second book in the series, and although I did not have the pleasure of reviewing the first, I was quickly brought up to date. A Break in Time is a slow starter, but quickly grows more and more intriguing, so that by the end I was flying through the pages. From jungle natives to burning pirate ships, Ms. Miles creates such vivid scenes that they play through the reader's mind. Although the thrills didn't begin until partway through the book, A Break in Time was a joy to read. This time-travel adventure is a recommended read!
