Kevin Beltrán has always done okay with women, but lately things have been just a little too much. Really, how much is a guy supposed to put up with? This must really be why Kevin has found himself having daydreams and lustful thoughts about Ben Durrance, one of his co-workers. Because at the end of the day Kevin knows one thing – he is not gay! What he wants is some uncomplicated sex. So what if he happens to get that from a buddy? But as things heat up and begin to get serious, Kevin needs to face, if only within himself, what exactly is behind his attraction for Ben, and what it says about him.

Ben Durrance leads a pretty happy life, even when it is uncomplicated by a relationship. However, when he follows his impulse to flirt with Kevin, he knows he is heading for trouble because Kevin is obviously conflicted about his sexuality. Ben can’t help himself, though. As their casual friendship grows to include some sexual play, Ben can’t help but want more from Kevin – the thing is, will Kevin be brave enough to admit to himself, his family and to Ben how he really feels? Or will Kevin break Ben’s heart?

Jumping the Fence is an awesome story about love and coming to terms with who you are. Stephanie Vaughan has written a very compelling and enthralling love story that will charm and absorb you from the very first page. Kevin is full of flaws, but so endearing that you can’t help but fall in love with him right along with Ben. As Kevin struggles with his attraction for Ben, it is very easy to see and understand his struggle to come to terms with what he is discovering about himself. Ben, on the other hand, is comfortable within his own skin, and with his quiet strength, he helps Kevin discover how easy and right it feels to follow your heart. Still, Ben isn’t perfect, and his moments of insecurity and vulnerability only serve to make him more real and loveable.

When I first heard that Jumping the Fence was being re-released I could not have been more pleased, as the original version of this book was one of my first m/m romances and served to really hook me on the genre. In this expanded version, Stephanie Vaughan goes a little deeper into “what comes next” after Kevin’s revelations and really gives the reader better insight into Ben and Kevin individually and as a couple. Just like the first time I picked up this book, I couldn’t put it down, as I found the men captivating in their foibles, and when they come together, it's totally bone-melting, curl-your-socks, breathlessly hot – especially for the first time.

Jumping the Fence is a contemporary love story that is not to be missed and Stephanie Vaughan is definitely an author who belongs in every m/m romance lover’s keeper shelf. Pick up Jumping the Fence the next chance you get – you won’t regret it!

Note: Jumping the Fence is an expanded version of a book previously released by another publisher.
