Lady Karee Wilmore has always dreamed of being a dragon’s mate.

Prince Marcus of Alleon and Lady Karee have been friends since childhood. So when the time came for Marcus to be wed the choice was Karee.

As the day of the wedding approaches, Karee notices that Marcus has become moody and distant. Hoping to surprise Marcus and get things back to the way they were, Karee is the one who is surprised when she sees Marcus with another woman. Karee is kidnapped by an Air Dragon on the eve of her wedding. Will she now have a chance to be happy?

Dragon’s Mate may be a short story, but it was an enjoyable read. I liked the characters and the plot sequence. There was also an unexpected twist. Beth Caudill does a nice job of setting the scenes, but I was somewhat disappointed by the lack of sex between the characters.
