Rain spent the beginning years of her life in an environment where the roles for women were very stifling and controlled. She was supposed to marry and fall into the same trap every other woman in her family suffered through but Rain managed to escape. She flees across the country and ends up working as a waitress as she works on her art. One day two men come into the restaurant where she works and one of the men asks her out. Doing something she had never done before, she accepts the date with Laurent. Laurent is a werewolf who has finally found his mate. He has long put his job as Third in Command of the Cherchez Wolves before his own life and it is time for him to have the joy of a mate. He knows his pursuit of Rain will not be easy with her issues with trust and his having to tell her about his werewolf status. But failure is not an option for Laurent. And when Rain is kidnapped by someone from her past, Laurent will not stop until he has his mate back where she belongs, by his side. The sequel to Ascension, Fire and Rain, is a wonderful story by Lauren Dane. Full of passion and action, this story will keep you on the edge of your seat all the way to the end. I love the intensity between Rain and Laurent as well as Laurent’s devotion to his pack. If you love Alpha heroes, you will love Laurent! Rain is a spunky woman who is willing to give up all she knows to be free of her past. The passion is spectacular between these two and when a third is brought in for a brief moment of love, you will not believe the heat that is generated. Fire and Rain is a stunning story that I highly recommend! |
