Shayne travels to the bar Del Fantasma because he heard rumors online that the bartender at this bar, supposedly a meeting place for supernatural creatures, is known for his matchmaking abilities. Shayne is not looking for a relationship. He’s just looking for a unique experience. All of his relationships in the past have turned out very bad and more than one ended in abuse. When the bartender motions for a patron of the bar to meet Shayne, he feels for the first time he may have made a mistake. Leon is a shapeshifter who is looking for a companion. For too long he has been alone between mating gatherings of his pride but he never expected the matchmaker to choose a male companion for him. Leon has never been with another man before but the uniqueness of the experience calls to him. Leon has a violent and tortured past and he fears the response he has to Shayne. The two men will have to battle their own pasts to come together for more than one night of passion. I found A Slow Fuzzy Screw by Sharon Marie Bidwell to be a unique story which is not so much a love story as it is the story of two men, each with painful pasts, who are able to come together despite these pasts and who learn more about themselves in the process. There are times when the sex scenes are quite intense and border line leaning towards violent. Leon’s past includes a terrible time spent caged by an evil man in a circus where he was forced to perform. Shayne’s past is equally painful because the men he chose to love demeaned him and often abused him. Watching these men grow to trust each other and themselves makes A Slow Fuzzy Screw a book not to be missed. |
