Kate Dellafield is beginning a course at the prestigious Conservatoire de Paris when her instructor, Gabriel Jourdain, criticizes her within moments of her first class with him, embarrassing her in front of the other students. Kate has long admired Gabriel’s work as a musician but she is unaware of the fact that he returned from the war injured and unable to play music with his normal perfection. Gabriel’s injuries are from more than his wounds from war. His fiancé wounded him as well when he returned home expecting to fall into her loving arms only to have her shun him for his injuries. Since that fateful day, Gabriel has guarded himself from hurt believing that he could never find love again.

Kate soon falls in love with Gabriel and longs to share her life with him but Gabriel holds her at bay. When she discovers his reason for pushing her away, she is determined to fight for their love. As Kate is falling in love with Gabriel, a madman is falling in love with her and will do whatever he must to make her his. With the help of another who is just as insane as the madman, Kate’s life is in danger and Gabriel may not be able to save her.

Song of a Druid Princess is the third book in the Garland of Druids series by Jean Hart Stewart and it may just be my favorite in the series. Gabriel’s fight to overcome his demons is heartbreaking. He needs the love Kate brings to his life and even though he fights to separate himself from her, his love for her is undeniable. Kate is a strong woman, secure in her Druid powers and the love of her family. I found myself liking her from the first page of the book and by the end of the book I greatly admired her character. The passion in Song of a Druid Princess is sweet and touching. This is a fantastic story that will bring hours of enjoyment.
